Description: In the mid-50s, WAPS was one of many radio stations in a state-wide project to bring "high tech learning" into Ohio's classrooms, broadcasting educational programs during the school day. In 1990, a group of volunteers from The University of Akron came to WAPS. For the first time in its history, WAPS was on-the-air on weekends, producing nationality programming.
